It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elida Salinas Villarreal (Alvin, Texas), who passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco Salinas and Blasa Salinas; her husband Manuel S. Villarreal (Nuevo León); her son Cayetaño "Tony" Villarreal; her grandson Cayetaño "Tony" Villarreal Jr.; and her brothers, Pedro Rodriguez Salinas and Pantaleon "Chapa" Rodriguez Salinas.
She is survived by: her brother Salvador Rodriguez Salinas; her children, Manuela Rogers, Josefina Mendez (Geraldo Mendez), Blasa Vela (Jesse Vela), Jerry Villarreal (Isabel Villarreal), John Villarreal (Anetia Villarreal), Francisco "Frank" Villarreal and Robert Villarreal (Martha Garcia); her great great grandchild Ludivina "Ludi" Smith (Rory Smith); her children, Alexia Guevara, Jesselyn Guevara and Bianca Garza (Jacob Garza); her granddaughter Juliet Garza; and also, Jaylee, Braxton Smith, Beto Villarreal, Patricia Lingerfelt (Michael Lingerfelt), AnaElena "Ruby" Lingerfelt, Mary Hernandez (Daniel Hernandez), Alex, Ethan Hernandez, Crystal Guevara (Jesse Guevara), Mark Vela, Mia, Celeste, Rene, Gracie Vela, Laura Fouts (Corey Fouts), Maddie, Emily Fouts, John Villarreal Jr. (Katie Villarreal), Hayden Barron, Landon, Layne "Gus" Villarreal, Amanda Turner (Ryan Turner), Peyton Turner, Christopher Villarreal and Breana Villarreal. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
A rosary was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Oak Park Chapel (300 Oak Park Dr, Alvin, TX 77511). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church (110 E South St, Alvin, TX 77511).
