He was predeceased by: his parents, R. L. Perkins and Thelma Perkins; and his sister Bonnie Penney. He is survived by: his spouse Dana Watts; his children, Carrie Perkins of Alvarado, Ginger Russell (Brad) of Mt. Hope and Toby Perkins (Sabra) of Aubrey; and his siblings, Bobby Perkins of Tolar, Billy Perkins of Whitney and Patsy Stewart of Whitney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
