He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosendo Cruz and Macaria Cruz; his siblings, Rosendo Cruz, Antonia Cruz, Alicia Vazquez, Willie Cruz, Rosa Cruz Fuentes, Ismael Cruz and Eddie Cruz; and his son Jeffrey Scott Poe.
He is survived by: his daughters, Leslie Denise Poe, Alison Omega Cruz Clark (Darin) and Patricia Macaria Hodges (Dawn); his sister Helen "Nena" Ramirez; and his grandchildren, Nikki Lyndsey, Joshua Hodges, Tabatha Lem, Dominique Hodges, Rudy Lem, Patrick Cruz, Chelsea Hutchison and Ashley Hollis. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
