It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucia Vargas Acevedo of Alvarado, Texas, born in Mirando City, Texas, who passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her sons, Alvaro Jr. and Mario Acevedo; her brother Jesus Vargas Jr.; her parents, Jesus R. "Lucy" and Consuelo L. Vargas "Lucy"; her husband Alvaro Acevedo; her daughter Belinda Abshire (Leonard III); her grandchildren, Willow Abshire, Nicolas Acevedo, Crista Acevedo and Jake Acevedo; and her sisters, Victoria V. Gonzalez of Alvarado and Veronica V. Salinas of Burleson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
