He is survived by: his wife Marjorie; his son Terry; his daughter-in-law Amy Tackett; his grandsons, Troy Tackett and Toby Tackett; and his sisters-in-law, Audrey Tackett and Priscilla Tackett. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home (200 E Patton Ave, Alvarado, TX 76009). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (301 S Spears St, Alvarado, TX 76009). A burial was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at the Glenwood Cemetery (415 N Pkwy Dr, Alvarado, TX 76009).
