He was predeceased by: his parents, James Houston, Sr. and Evy Houston (Sanders); his granddaughter My'Keunte Bush; and his siblings, Horace Houston, Thomas Houston, Mollie Daniels, Jewel Jarmon and Ricky Houston.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Nelson, Renard Houston and Kenya Thomas (Kevin); his grandchildren, Natasha Nelson, Mercedes Conners, My'Kia Nelson and Kalaysia Thomas; his great grandchildren, Nadia Turner and Ricki Jones; and his close friend Valerie Walker. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
