He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gerald "Spec" Aufdengarten and Lola Swanson Aufdengarten; his children, Mitch and Gerry; his sister Peg; his father-in-law William Hayes Mitchell, Jr. (Marie Claire Kyle); his children, Kaki Aufdengarten-Scott (Mark), Mitchell Ellery Aufdengarten (Austin) and Gerald Hayes Aufdengarten (Jordan); his grandchildren, Kaelyn Rayne Cash, Mitchell Asa Aufdengarten and Hayes William Aufdengarten; his sister Peggy Aufdengarten Simpson; his nieces and nephews, Wade Simpson, Shannon Allard, Wyatt Simpson, Mathew Simpson, Shane, Stu Nielson and Stacy Nielson; and his cousins, Kirk Swanson (Becky) and Allen Swanson (Joy).
