Robert G. Bair Jr. Obituary

Robert Gail Bair, Jr., passed away December 4, 2021. Robert was born November 21, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from the University of Houston Central campus with a degree in Communications. He held various jobs in the business world but most of his years were spent as a recruiter for tech and other types of companies, including being a recruiter at Microsoft.

This work led to volunteer opportunities with a local church, where he volunteered at night with a group called Job Net. He helped people find jobs and gave them opportunities and resources to help themselves. He attained his Eagle Scout rank and was involved in leadership in scout troops. ROBERT LOVED HELPING PEOPLE. He had a passion for the outdoors including hiking and rock climbing.

Robert was also adept at understanding health and nutrition supplements often providing advice and counseling to others regarding that, so they could feel their best. For years he had a golden retriever named Bentley that was constantly at his side and was a big part of his family. He truly loved dogs but would feed and care for any animal he saw in need.

Robert had minored in French in college, and in 1974 traveled widely throughout Europe for months before ending up in Australia where his family had relocated. Robert had a strong Christian faith and often studied the deep meaning of various scriptures. He attended many churches depending on where he lived. While in California, he volunteered daily with the Salvation Army.

He loved helping the homeless. He most recently attended Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. Robert helped his sister Susan, to care for their parents in their home, until their passing. Robert is survived by his siblings, Sister, Susan M. Carothers of Lake Texoma, Texas; Brother, Ronald L. Bair of Montgomery, TX; nieces and nephews, Brandon J. Carothers of Melissa, Texas, Laura Sweatt of Spring, Texas, Emily Simmons of the Woodlands, Texas, Ronald L Bair, Jr. of Livermore, California, Justin Bair of Houston, Texas; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Ethel M. Bair, and father, Robert G. Bair, of McKinney, Texas. Services will be held at the Cottonwood Creek Chapel in Allen, Texas at 11 AM on December 11, 2021. Interment will be at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made in Robert's name to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
