She was predeceased by: her parents, Ella Witherspoon (Clisbee) and Joe Witherspoon; and her son John Witherspoon Slaughter. She is survived by: her husband Ernest Slaughter, Jr.; her sons, Mark Slaughter, Scott Parker Slaughter and Stephen McCulloch Slaughter; and her grandchildren, Kathryn Park Slaughter, Megan Kelly Slaughter and John Witherspoon Slaughter, II.
