He is survived by: his son Herbert Hays, Jr. (Lorie) of Allen, Texas; his granddaughters, Jennifer E. Hays and Sarah A. Hays; his great grandchildren, Kiana N. Smith and Avery C. Smith; and his great great grandchild Dally R. Crolick.
