He was predeceased by: his parents, Patsy Swope and Buddy Harris of Big Spring, Texas; his adoptive mother Dora; his grandmother Pinkerton (Mary Young) of Big Spring, Texas; his son Christopher James Harris; and also Thelma Kay Sullivan (Benny) of Mesquite, Texas.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Harris of McKinney, Texas; his children, Jason Harris (Kristen) of Blue Ridge, Texas, Mandy Hanes (Chris) of Van Alstyne, Texas and Brittany Ritchie (Ryan) of Sherman, Texas; and his grandchildren, Joey, Dylan, Jonah Harris, Madison and Colton Hanes. He is also survived by numerous sisters, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
