He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alton and Elvia Katie McCollum; and his brother Jerry McCollum. He is survived by: his wife JoEtta Richter McCollum; his children, William Bryan McCollum (Kim) and Ceci Elizabeth Vollmering; his sisters, Betty Cutler (Earl), Judy McCollum and Clara McCollum; his grandchildren, Alainya Tomanec (Chad), Scott Vollmering, Travis Colton Vollmering (Val), Reed Vollmering (Sam), Mason Vollmering (Sarah), Dolan Vollmering (McKayla), Heston Vollmering (Emma), Kairos Powell (Marty) and Keegan McCollum; and his great grandchildren, Avery, Brieley Tomanec, Paisley, Hollyn, Hadlee Vollmering and Jack Powell.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Holmgreen Mortuary (2061 E Main St, Alice, TX 78332). A rosary was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (603 E 5th St, Alice, TX 78332). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at the Gussetville Cemetery (373 FM799, George West, TX 78022).
