He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Cardona and Beatrice Cardona of Alice, Texas.; his wife Lydia G. Cardona of Alice; his daughters, Maria Isabel Heras of Minnesota and Melinda Abila of Odessa; and his siblings, Nelda Trevino, Vilma Huerta, Josefa Rodriguez, Joe Cardona and Alfonso Cardona.
He is survived by: his children, Jose Homero Cardona (Elida) of Pecos and Zulema Cantu (Martin) of Alice; and his siblings, Ruben Cardona and Dolores Hinojosa. He is also survived by Numerous Grand Children, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
