He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Rush and Grace Lucille Brannan; his wife Shirley C. Rush; and his sisters, Lou Risley, Charlene Alice Boyer and Barbara Sue Landry.

He is survived by: his close friend Irma Rodriquez; his brother Bill Rush; his sons, Jerry Lee Rush and Steve Rush; and his family, Rebecca Ann Rush, Wayne, Brannon, Haley, Amber, Luke and Emily. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
