He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilberto "Blackie" Saenz and Maria Luisa Hernandez Saenz Jr. (Gilberto); and his sisters, Sylvia Cisneros Franco and Belia Anguiano. He is survived by: his significant other Criselda "Cris" Saenz; his children, Jennifer Lynn Saenz (Ronny), Gilberto Saenz IV (Rebeca) and Veronica Maria Saenz; his grandchildren, Angelica Maria Saenz and Jezebelle I. Rubinos; his son Shawn Jacob Contreras; and his sister Rose Mary Paez. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Trevino Funeral Home-Alice (120 E Front St, Alice, TX 78332). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Overcomer (3310 E Main St, Alice, TX 78332). The military honors was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Cemetery.
