He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Gillespie and Ilene Gillespie. He is survived by: his former wife Cecelia Clark; his wife Lee Ann Gillespie; his children, Tammy Herring and Ethan Gillespie; his granddaughter Brittany Cooper; and his siblings, Kenneth Gillespie (Billie) and Rita Clack (Stan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 75014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
