She was predeceased by: her parents, Elise Akin and Joe Ned Akin; her brother David Akin; her stepdaughter Holly Midkiff; and her grandson Titus Akins.
She is survived by: her husband Sam Midkiff; her children, Stephanie Cox (Greg) of Linden, NC, Brandon Hueber (Rebecca) of Winter Park, FL, Valerie Kruse (Tyler) of Aledo, TX, Allison Dolajak (Chris) of Cedar Park, TX and James Hueber; her stepdaughter Samantha Kemble; her grandchildren, Logan, Morgan Cox, Charlotte, Grant, Claire, Catherine Hueber, Karn, Kylie Kruse, Cooper Simpson, Gavin, Andrew Dolajak, Sebastian, Xander Kemble, Trinity Akins and Tyrell Beverly; and her siblings, Kathy Thompson (Bill) and Mark Akin (Debi). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to LifeGift Fort Worth, an organization that delivers lifesaving organ transplants to the recipients who need them.
