It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sam Thomas Burge Jr. of Albany, Texas, who passed away on April 19, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Thomas Burge, Sr. and Artie Christina Burge (Gray); his son Gaylon Dewayne Burge; and his siblings, Alton, Samuel, Betty, Vera, Myrtle, Frances, Lillian and May.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Burge of Breckenridge, Stephanie Burge of Moran and Mary Elizabeth Burge of North Carolina; his sister Florence English of Potosi; his grandchildren, Shelley Burge of Abilene, Amanda Dickson of Moran, LaTosha Dickson of Moran and Shawn Burge of Webb City, Missouri; and his great grandchildren, Renee Burge, Jason Burge, Jeremy Jiminez, Elijah Jiminez, Isabella Jiminez, Charlotte Jiminez, Daxton Burge, Ensley Burge, Alicia Weems and Randell Weems.

Sam was involved in charity work in Albany including Meals on Wheels and Neighbors in Need.
