He is survived by: his children, Tomas Alvarez (Irma) of Idaho, Maribel Pena, Cruz Alvarez (Rosalinda), Andrea Rivas (Alonso) of Pharr, Julian Alvarez Jr. of Idaho and Anna Alvarez of Alamo; and his siblings, Jose Luis Alvarez of La Rosita, Antonio Alvarez of California and Diana Lopez of Alamo. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.
