He was predeceased by: his parents, Reana Mae Beach and John Nelson; and his children, Dewayne Gammer, Audrea Gammer, Clifford Gammer and Demond Gammer.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Nelson; his sons, Volo Gammer Jr. and Veander Gammer; and his siblings, Doris Lytle, Connie Shepherd, Gwendolyn Fye Beach, Mardean Hall, Kaye Jenkins, Tim Lawson Strode (Linda) and Ike Beach.
