He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacqueline McCombie Hoover and Thomas Blair Hoover; and his grandparents, Albert, Mary McCombie, Edwin and Ellen Hoover.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Tinney Hoover; his daughter Sarah Hoover Bates (Kreston Bates); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Heidenheimer and Seth Bates; and his siblings, Jill Werner, Jack Hoover (Chrissie), Dan Hoover (Robin), Mary Jones (Brian) and Jeff Hoover (Cyndi). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
