She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Polk and Ruth Elizabeth Polk; her husband Earl Thomas; her siblings, Willie Ruth Matthews and James Laren Polk; and her grandson Issac Covington.
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Covington (Stephanie) of Ft. Worth, TX and Lisa Covington-Scott (Freddie) of Garland, TX; her sisters, Shirley Pearl Coley of Loganville and Patsy Louis Polk of Abilene, TX; and her grandchildren, Brandon Newsom, Talicia Gobert-High (Chadrick), Rodney O'Brian Covington (Yajarrah) and Alonzo Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
