He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark C. Coursey and Melba Fisher Coursey; his friend Don Foster; his children, Carrie Mechaele Coursey and Gary Patrick Coursey; his brother Sam Coursey; his siblings-in-law, Ann Jayroe, Roger Adams and Kennith Wayne Wheeler; and his close friend Rick McNutt.
He is survived by: his wife Nelle; his daughter Alicia Coursey (Robert Scarboro) of Pflugerville; his grandchildren, Wesley Kalk (Sarah), Jacob Kalk (Hannah), Amber Sansom (Chase) and Patrick Tanner Coursey; his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Judah, Brylie, Mavryk, Axyl, Liam and Kinley; his nieces and nephews, Matthew Coursey (Jessica), Dr. Lauren Coursey (Jesse), Teresa Jayroe, Raelyn Edwards, David Wheeler (Angela), Chad Wheeler, Jackie Neff (Dan), Roger Adams (Becky) and James Adams (Grace); and his close friend Roger Engle.
