She is survived by: her parents, Douglas Areskog and Darlene Areskog; her husband Keith Hayes; her son Angelo Moreno; her stepdaughter Kalei Hayes; her stepmother Diane Areskog; her siblings, Heather Schmoke (James Moss), Julie Campbell (Casey), Jessica Ashdown (Jacob), Michael JaQuays (Alycia) and Rocky Lamascolo; her grandmother Carol Hellmers; and her close friends, Michelle Allen and Allison Fitzwilliam. She is also survived by numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to your local humane society or other groups that care for animals in memory of Melissa.
