He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Stansell and Wanda Stansell (Mosely). He is survived by: his wife Dale Stansell; his daughter Lindsey Stansell (Cory Flippin); his grandchildren, Audrey and Connor; his daughter Laura Merriman (Will Merriman); and his grandsons, Ethan and Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
