The memory of James Lee Cole of Abilene, Texas, who passed away on December 7, 2024 at the age of 79, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cole and Hazel Thompson Cole; and his brother Travis Cole. He is survived by: his wife Diane Baker Cole; his sons, Jim (Becky), John (Marci) and Andrew (Janelle); his siblings, Ed (Gayle), Elton, Don (Belinda) and Mary; and his grandchildren, Carson, Madison, Currian, Jacob, Allison, Joshua and Jackson.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (1333 N 3rd St, Abilene, TX 79601).

Memorials may be given in honor of J.L. Cole to the Ministries of First Baptist Church, Abilene, TX.
