He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorotha Ray Adams and Billie Calvin Adams; his in-laws, Graydon and Esther Howell; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Adams and Peggy Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Adams; his children, Brenda Johnson (Larry) and David Adams (Ashley); his siblings, Carol VanHoozer and Dewayne Adams; his grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Candice Thrasher, Abigail Adams, Emma Adams and Anahlicia Johnson; and his great grandchild Frankie Johnson.
