Hector Asencio Obituary
Hector was born October 15, 1958 in Merkel to A.C. and Lupe Ascencio. He attended school in Merkel. He served in the United States Army. His work included oilfield and owning a roofing company. Hector enjoyed riding Harleys and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his daughter Brandi Kruser and spouse Clint of Abilene; sons Hector "Artie" Asencio of Granbury and Armando Asencio of Buffalo Gap; stepchildren Kristi Smith, Destini Jarreau and Anthony Jarreau, all of Denham Springs, Louisiana; siblings Will Ascencio of Trent, Marti Cascio of Albuquerque, Dora Ascencio of Abilene, Betty Buitron of Laredo, Arn Ascencio of Abilene, Patricia Tice of Abilene, Kandi Darnell of Devine, and Roni Asencio of Los Alamos; granddaughters Halie Carlson and Kianna Ellis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Hector's life will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Hall, 111 Taylor St in Merkel.
