Garland Wayne Childers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Garland Wayne Childers of Abilene, Texas, who passed away on December 25, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Garland Wayne leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Childers and Velma Childers; his wife Beverly Childers; his daughter Karen Childers; and his siblings, Jo Hannah, Bill Childers and Bonnie Myers.
He is survived by: his sister Carolyn Scott; and his children, Jeff Childers (Linda) and Lisa Cruse (Shannon). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Northwest Church of Christ (1141 N Willis St, Abilene, TX 79603).
