She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Patterson and Egelee Patterson; her husband Spruce Sr.; her daughter Hazel Young; and the parents of child, Morris and Egelee Patterson.
She is survived by: her children, Spruce Derden Jr. (LaVeda) of Clinton, MS, David Derden (Kandy) of Sedalia, MO and Wanda Cano (Rudy) of New Braunfels, TX.; and her grandchildren, Doug Jones, Spruce Derden III, Leighann LeMaster, Lindsey Roland, Ariel Young and Cori Cano. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren.
