He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Lackey and Hazel Lackey; his former wife Carol Lackey; his brother George Lackey (Ann); and his grandson Evan Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Cortines (Thomas); his children, Steve Lackey (Cathy), Donna Simmons (Robert) and Lynn Turner (John); and his grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Michelle, Holly, Lindsay, Casey and Mia. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Tech General Scholarship Fund, or to the Aldersgate Abilene Methodist Church.
