He was predeceased by: his parents, Oren Bush and Nannie Whitfield Bush; his sister Jean Kirkland; and his brothers-in-law, Cecil Drennan Smithson and Jimmy Moss.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Lynn Foster Bush; his children, Brent Bush (Lydia) of Woodbury and Tandra Cardosi (John) of Tullahoma; his siblings, Clyde Bush (Kathryn) of Woodbury, Maurice Bush (Helon) of Woodbury, Robert Bush (Carolyn) of Woodbury, Carolyn Moss of Woodbury and Faye Smithson of Readyville; his sister-in-law Joy Bush; his grandchildren, Jessica Bush of Murfreesboro, Zachariah Bush (Kendall) of Nashville, Nathan Bush (Danielle) of Alexandria, VA, John Vincent Cardosi of Spring Hill and Andrew Cardosi of Tullahoma; his great grandchildren, Kaden Mowl, Landen Mowl, Sophia Bush, Camille Bush, Olivia Bush, Elliott Bush, Riley Bush, Daniel Bush and Miriam Sánchez; and his great great grandchild Maria Sánchez. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
