It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nettie Angeline Batey of Woodbury, Tennessee, born in Flint, Michigan, who passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Batey and Gladys Lyons Batey; her son Christopher Batey; her sisters, Theresa Batey Bean and Martha Batey; her uncle James; and her aunt Katherine Batey.
She is survived by: her children, Julian Johnson (Tarra) and Lynika "Nika" Bennett (Josh); her grandchildren, Donovan Batey, Brianna Johnson, Lea Johnson, Keymani Richardson, Siena Bennett, L. J. Watters and Christiona Batey; and her nieces and nephews, Jason Batey, Page Verge, Kenya Verge and Tisa Batey. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
