He was predeceased by: his parents, James Junior Carpenter and Mary Aline Swan Carpenter. He is survived by: his son James Andrew Kerr Carpenter of Woodbury; and his siblings, Mark Carpenter (Lynn) of Huntsville and Suzette Rasmussen of Memphis. He is also survived by his niece and 2 nephews.
