Mary Jean Butters Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Jean Butters in Wildersville, Tennessee, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 9, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Grace (Nee Ashcraft) and Harry James Litterst; her husband Henry E. Butters II; her son Mark Wellington Butters; her siblings, Ralph Stanton, Robert James Litterst and Karen Helena Litterst; and her sister-in-law Ruth A. Litterst.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Beth Edmiston (Joseph) of Rio Rancho, NM, Matthew Wade Butters (Debra) of Wildersville, TN and Malcolm Andrew Butters of Wonsocket, RI; her sister-in-law Ann Litterst of Suffolk, VA; her grandsons, Joshua Lee Edmiston and Mark Andrew Butters; and her stepgranddaughters, Amanda Hulsey (Brian), Jennifer Wallace (Dustin) and Jing Jing Chen. She is also survived by several step-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM and on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 3:00 PM. Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (27 Church St, Lexington, TN 38351).
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Everett Horn Library in Lexington, TN.
