She was predeceased by: her husband William Max Scates; her parents, Connie Ray and Virgie Arnold Hatch; and her sister Oreeta Hopper (Lowell). She is survived by: her sons, David W. Scates of Memphis, Don Scates (Anna) of Franklin, KY. and Dale Scates of Cookeville; her siblings, Betty Todd (Gene) of Parsons, James Hatch (Dee) of Millington and Bobby Hatch of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Jacquelyn McCray (Brendan), Graham Scates (JoAnna) and Andrea Scates. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
