We bid farewell to Shirley Dean Dodson (Whitwell, Tennessee), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 10, 2025 at the age of 87. Shirley Dean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Shirley Dean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley Dean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Clyde Dodson; her son W. C. Dodson; and her parents, Joe Beasley and Mattie Beasley. She is survived by: her children, Louise House (Steve) of Spencer, TN, Betty Conley (Larry) of Sparta, TN, Jimmy Dodson (Barbara) of Sparta, TN, Linda Brewer (Raymond) of Crossville, TN and Johnny Dodson (Mary Ann) of Sparta, TN. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
