It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy H. Long of Whitwell, Tennessee, who passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Long and Minnie Layne Long; and his brothers, Dan Long and Ray Long. He is survived by: his wife Tommie Jean Long; his children, Gerald Long (Dawn), Chris Long (Aimee) and Tammy Skelton (Jody); his grandchildren, Whitney Rankin (David), Austin Skelton (Morgan), Emily Pedigo (Austin), Tori Meeks (Braxton), Ethan Skelton (Abby), Hannah Long (Isaac Cross) and Braylon Long; his great grandchildren, Paisley Rankin, Blaikley Rankin, Kainen Pedigo and Hudson Pedigo; his brother Jack; his grandmother Jean Owens; and his caregivers, Stephanie Willis, Leona White, Summer, Don, Morgan and Mary of Hearth Hospice.
