It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronald Cookston of Whitwell, Tennessee, who passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Cookston and Lillie Cookston; his grandson Ryan Cookston; his siblings, Louise Floyd (Sheriff), Kenneth Cookston (Georgia), Carl Gene Cookston (Dorothy) and Johnny Cookston; the mother of his children Carolyn Tate; and his close friend Jerry Morrison.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Rollins (Anthony), Randy Cookston (Angela) and Derek Cookston; his grandchildren, Paige Evatt (Tyler), Heath Cookston (Terri Lynn), Haven Cookston, Kendal Ivey (Justin), Chastin Cookston, Caleb Guffey (Emily), Hunter Cookston and Alonna Cookston; his great grandchildren, John Brown, Braden Dalton, Tate Evatt, Shaylee Cookston, Jayce Cookston, Stone Evatt, Desiree Cookston, Finley Cookston, Mabrey Ivey, Lainey Guffey, Gage Rollins, Payton French (Matthew), Ayden Ivey and Kendall Ivey; his brother Gary Cookston (Gayle); his sister-in-law Alma Cookston; and his close friends, Chad, Katie Rollins, Jewell Shadrick, Bill Don Rankin, Cecil Baxter and J. T. Shadrick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephew.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Reed Funeral Home (11675 TN-28, Whitwell, TN 37397). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
