She was predeceased by: her husband McKinley Newson; her parents, Lawrence Harvey Long and Minnie Lee Layne Long; and her brothers, Danny Clark Long, Ray Lawrence and Sam Harvey Long.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Newson of Whitwell and Willie H. Newson of Seymour; her brother Jack Dale Long; her grandchildren, David Newson, Bobbie Gail Alder and Melissa Sue Newson; her great grandchildren, Owen Newson, Olivia Newson, Jesse Martin and Nicholas Martin; and her great great grandchild Colston Martin.
