It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Myrtle Kimsey (Whitwell, Tennessee), who passed away on August 26, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh Edward Vandergriff; her former husband Frank Kimsey; her parents, Johnny Lee and Sallie Crowell Steele; her siblings, James Manson Steele and Ruby Steele Adams; and her granddaughter Kelly Vandergriff.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Holloway (James) of Whitwell, Hugh Edward Vandergriff (Peggy) of Whitwell and David Craig Vandergriff (Lois) of Whitwell; her siblings, Ada Flury (Doug) of Rossville, Jane Hobbs (Roger) of Scottsboro, Charlie Steele (Gertrude) of Whitwell and Scott Steele of Jasper; her grandchildren, Toby Vandergriff, Jennifer Camp (Nathan), James Kyle Holloway (Jessica), Jessica Darby (Tony) and Tyler Vandergriff; and her great grandchildren, Dillon of Wyatt, Ala, Alivia, Lawrence, Peyton, Paxton, Paisley and Kyrie. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
