He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Dean Layne; and his grandparents, Fred, Essie Gravitt, Will and Willie Mae Layne.
He is survived by: his father Joe Andrew Layne; his children, Amber Dare of Whitwell, Rebecca Berry of Murfreesboro and Paizley Layne of Signal Mtn; and his grandchildren, Myron Dare, Elise Dare and Abigail Billingsley.
