He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Joann Shirley Hurst of Bridgeport, Randy Shirley and Johnny Thompson (Bertha) of Jasper; and his grandchildren, D. J. Smith, Bradley Smith, Mason Gaston, Julee Smith, Braden Gaston, Breanna Turner and Brayden Turner.
