He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Lee Griffith McCrary; his parents, William Judson and Minnie Irene Williams McCrary; his son John Creed McCrary, Jr; and his siblings, Gladys McFarland, Betty Bolinger, Hattie Ferguson, Mary Ruth Daniels, Minnie Bell Smith, Ella Katherine McCrary, James "Bud" McCrary and William R. McCrary.
He is survived by: his children, Joan (Richard), Katherine, Patricia (Bill), Mary, Louise (John), Carolyn (Wayne), Christine and Tony (Elaine); and his siblings, Ruby Daniel of Rossville, Dorothy Crawley of Chapperal, Alice Felix of Rainesville, AL and Jacob C. McCrary of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
