He was predeceased by: his children, Adrienna Shawn Basham and John Shannon Basham; his parents, John Basham and Willene Basham; his brother Col. Jeff Basham; his nephew Byron Basham; and his great-nephews, Alexander Paul Hatfield and Beau Oliver Gilliam.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Basham; his granddaughter Maria Shawn Basham of Whitwell; his siblings, Stanley Hatfield of King's Mountain, Jim Basham (Vickie) of Chattanooga, Donnie Bird (Yvonne) of Whitwell, Jerry Basham (Yvette) of Whitwell and Rosetta Lazic (Zoran) of Toronto, Canada; and his sister-in-law Inez Basham of Butler, Alabama. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cumberland Mountain Church of God (4902 Mt Olive Rd, Whitwell, TN 37397). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
