He was predeceased by: his mother Peggy Jo Harris; his grandmother Mae Lou Harris (Queen Esther Harris); his aunts, Bessie Lou Jackson, Ida Pearl Harris and Doris Ann; and his father-in-law Clyde Jr. Layne.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Layne Harris; his children, Rebekah Harris of Whitwell, Randy Nunley (Brittni) of Jasper and Tim Nunley of Crossroads; his grandchildren, Jacob Nunley Valdez, Madilyn Davis, Kinsley Davis and Violet Nunley; and his mother-in-law Nelda Layne.
