He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alford and Lillie Dodson Burgess; and his brother Joseph Roscoe Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Evelyn Burgess; his daughters, Cindy Smith of Ringgold and Cherie Land of Ringgold; his siblings, Geneva Cooley, Faye Ross, Lou Alice Renegar, Dorthy Burgess, June Marie Blalock and Roy Franklin Burgess; his grandchildren, Steven, Alesia and Destiny; and his great grandchildren, Charisma and Westin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews & a host of friends.
