He was predeceased by: his parents, Benton Carr and Dean Layne Carr; his wife Mattie Ann Layne Carr; his brothers, Dwain Carr, Lonnie Carr and Michael; his grandson Zachary Aaron Carr; and his great grandchild Ezra Phoenix Gilbert.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy D. Carr and Regina Parks; his siblings, Frankie Johnson (Charles), Rickey Carr (Vickie), Pat Carr, Donna Newman and Mitchell Carr (Debbie); his grandchildren, Bobby Parks (Holly), Kelsie Gilbert, John Connor Parks (Rachel), Jesse Garren Carr and McKenlie Carr; and his great grandchild Marley Parks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
