He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Jean Layne; his parents, Lillian King of Virginia and Jesse Holther King; his sister Brenda Joyce Farr; his granddaughter Winter Rae Odom; his brother Jessie Marvin King; and his nephew Jacob Troy King.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Odom (Clinton) of McMinnville, Heather Watkins (Rick) of Sparta and Daniel King (Tina) of Sparta; his grandchildren, Ashley Hickerson (Brenton) of Spencer, Elizabeth Watkins of Sparta, Abigail Watkins of Sparta and Montana Odom; his brother David King (Iona) of McMinnville; and his great grandchildren, Brantley, Ashton Hickerson of Spencer and River Lee Turner of McMinnville.
