He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy; his parents, Sam Pickett and Myrtle Pickett; and his siblings, Melvin, Shirley, Dot and Carolyn.

He is survived by: his children, Rosa Powell (Vernell), Landon Pickett (Cindy), Gregory Pickett (Linda) and Donna Pickett; his grandchildren, Sammy Williams (Janet), Cindy Holmes (Tony), Chris Rogers (Alexis), Avery Pickett (Mindy), Darin Rogers (Brooke), Baxter Pickett and Cassi Pickett; his siblings, JC, Mildred, Sue, Christine, Gail and Rita; and his friend Roy Terry.
